The Key Laboratory of Optoelectronic Technology & System was established in 1999. The basic task of the laboratory is to carry out high-level research work in the frontier areas of optoelectronic technology and systems, to promote the development of optoelectronic technology and its industry, and to cultivate high-level professionals. Since its establishment, the laboratory has undertaken major national projects such as the National Basic Research Program of China (973 Program), the National High Technology Research and Development Program("863"Program), Key Program of the National Natural Science Foundation of China and National Science and technology support program, Through the implementation of these projects, it has solved some important basic theories and key technical issues in this field, and has achieved a number of internationally advanced research results. The laboratory plays an irreplaceable role in solving major scientific and technological problems, and has become an important base for the application of basic research and high-level personnel training in the field of optoelectronic technology and systems.
The research direction of the laboratory is mostly the interdisciplinary fusion of light, machine, electricity and computing. At present, the laboratory focuses on four research directions: fiber photonics technology, micro-nano devices and systems, intelligent structural systems and intelligent optoelectronic instruments and equipment to solve the application basis and major common key technologies in the field of optoelectronic technology and systems.
